This program offers free teaching games and game review sessions for players who have completed beginner training and can play a full game.
Meet the team
Our team of strong youth Go players offers free Go classes on a regular basis, and we often invite professional Go teachers to provide additional lessons. Please check our free Go lesson schedule regularly for updates.
Ben Gong
Ben Gong, Grade 12 at Southridge School, 5-dan (CGA). Represented Canada at the 2023 World Youth Go Championship; placed 6th in the Open Division of the 2024 Canadian Open Go Championship.
Andy Luo
Andy Luo, Grade 10 at Handsworth Secondary, 4-dan (CGA). First place in the 1–4 Dan Division at the 2023 and 2024 Vancouver Go Open.
Jason Liu
Jason is an 8th grade student from Vancouver. He won 2nd place at the 2023 Canada Open (U12) and 2nd place at the 2024 Canada West Go Open (1–4D). Beyond the Go board, he enjoys math challenges, speed cubing, and logic puzzles.
Andy Zhou is a 9th grade student from Los Angeles and a rising youth Go player. He is the 2024 and 2025 California Youth Go Champion and has been actively involved in promoting Go across Southern California. Andy has volunteered for years at Go outreach events in Los Angeles and San Diego, teaching and playing with beginners at cultural festivals, Go clubs, and Go schools.
Nathan Zhu is a Grade 12 student in Vancouer and a dedicated Go (Weiqi) volunteer. He won second place in Division A at the 19th Haida Cup. Since moving to Vancouver, Nathan has continued contributing to the Go community. He served as a referee and volunteer at the 2023 Canadian National Open and the 2023 Go Elite Cup.
Leo Tan
Leo Tan is a Grade 12 student from Toronto and an accomplished Go (Weiqi) player. Among his many achievements, he won the Canadian Open Go Championship in 2025 and 2023, and placed second in 2024.
Anna Zhou is a 9th grade student from Los Angeles. She won the 2025 San Diego Blitz Tournament (Kyu Division) championship and has been actively involved in promoting Go in both Los Angeles and San Diego. Anna regularly participates in community outreach events at cultural festivals, Go clubs, and Go schools, where she enjoys introducing the game to beginners and helping new players discover the joy of Go.
Brady Zhang
Brady Zhang is a Computer Engineering student at the University of Toronto and a 7-dan Go player. He has consistently placed in the top three at the Canadian Go Open in recent years and has represented Canada in multiple international tournaments. His achievements include finishing 10th at the 2025 World Amateur Go Championship (WAGC) and securing a top 10 placement at the 2023 Korean Prime Minister Cup (KPMC).
Angel Zhou is a 7th grade student from Los Angeles and a rising young Go player. She was the 2023 North American Youth Girls Runner-Up and the 2024 California Youth Girls Champion. Angel is also passionate about promoting Go in her community and has participated in many outreach events in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Bill Liu
Bill Liu is a Grade 10 student in Vancouver . In 2023, he won 2nd in the 1–4 Dan group in Vancouver Go Open.In 2024, he accumulated over 20 hours of instructing beginner-level Go classes.
Eason Liu is a Grade 10 student based in Saskatoon, Canada, and a 5-dan Go player. Having recently relocated from China, he has quickly become an enthusiastic participant in Canada’s growing Go community.
